Hi.

Installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo reinstalls the App Store for you and that may help.

Restart your Mac after the combo is installed. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8.

If that doesn't help, try deleting the cache associated with the App Store.

Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db

Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.

Restart your Mac.

Same here. The error message when I'm trying to run app store is something like this: "You can't use this version of app store with current version of Mac OS X. Youve got Mac OS X 10.6.8. The application need Mac OS X 10.7 up"

I just restored my complete system from Time Machine. My current version is now 10.6.8 and I want to get my Lion back.

The update combo 10.6.8 didn't work and there is no ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db to delete.

What to do?
