expedite shipping worth the money?

I'm considering to change my shipping method to 2nd day or expedite shipping. Is it worth the money? or standard shipping is just as fast?

Also, I ordered on 2/19 with expected shipping on 3/21 and delivery on 28th. What are the chances of them shipping early? or should i still rely on the expected shipping? because I would need a delivery address change IF they only ship out on the expected date.

Thanks

It is definatley faster. In my experience by at least 3-5 days (could be even more).

The question to you is "Is and extra 3-5 days worth the money?"

I find it funny that if someone ordered today, they could concievably get it in 2 weeks (order page now lists shipping as 2-3 weeks) and I'd still be waiting for mine 🙂

I just got the standard shipping myself. Some who paid for expidited called and got their money back when they found that it wasn't going to arrive in the stated timeframe.

If they had them in-stock ready to go out in 24 hours, then I'd say go for it. As it is, it's got to go through more than a regular package so that's gonna add to the delay.

Not sure if this will help or not and, of course, YMMV, but my MacBook Pro shipped from Shanghai on March 27 at 11:57 p.m. and my son just called to tell me it was delivered today (March 28) at about noon. Route was Shanghai-Anchorage-Indianapolis-Cedar Rapids-Mt. Pleasant (IA)-Macomb (IL). (Shanghai to Cedar Rapids was all via air.) My guess is that had I not ordered 2-day shipping, it would have been trucked from Indianapolis to Peoria, and then to me. I probably would have gotten it tomorrow.

Whether an extra day is worth the extra money is an individual decision. However, the extra shipping is a small proportion of the overall price.

...but that’s just my opinion.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the 2 day shipping applies to the period after the shipment clears Customs in Indianapolis. FedEx is pretty quick anyway. Mine cleared Indy on Sunday, Sunday afternoon/eve it flew to Seattle, then trucked to distribution center in Tacoma. Monday morning it was on the truck for delivery. This was standard shipping.

Not worth it.

Without exception?

I can't say that without exception it isn't worth it but I have two data points. You can compare for yourself.

The first time it was free standard shipping. I didn't pay extra. The second time it was shipped 2nd-day because it was a replacement for the first so they paid for expedited shipping. Even though the first was 5 days, it crossed a weekend so it was the same 3 business-day as the second.
