Q: searching real downloadable Firmware 7.4.2 for TC 4. gen.

wifi drops with new time capsule generation4, firmware 7.6 (second box tried, after 1 hour success wifi usage, the internet link is dropping donw/up/down ... in 15sec cylcle. older TV 1. gen ist dead now, but works ofer 3 years wifi with no drops!

 

there are some articles referencing to a downgrad firmware 7.4.2

on apple support center there is a lin to older firmware, but now real link to download in real ...

any ideas to get this firmware ?

    You cannot use 7.4 firmware on a Gen4 AFAIK.. you cannot ever go back prior to the first firmware it was released with.. 7.5.1 is probably the earliest but 7.5.2 is great.

     

    When you select the firmware upgrade, hold down the option key.. the list of prior firmware will come up that are available for that model.. and only that model.. so if I do this on a gen 1 or gen 2 I will get a very long list.. you will not see such a long list on a Gen 4. And I have heard even 7.5 is not available for very latest ones.

     

    If you run lion on the computer don't forget to install 5.6 airport utility.

    anyway, there is no link to download the firmware 7.5.1 ...

     

    but its solved now:

    the first TC was delivered with 7.6 code, during 1. install, ask for upgrade to 7.6.1, maybe this was failed during upgrade .. wifi drops no way out -> change TC

    this 2. TC i was using only 7.6. but no way out to solve the drop issue.

    after 2 days no solution found, i try the last chance an upgrade to 7.6.1 code, this upgrade has not failed .. no i setup with WPA/WPA2 and connecting my devices with WPA .. no more with WPA2. WPA Time out to 1 day ...

    no its working fine this morning, if the evening is working fine, at a time all neighbors using there wifi's than maybe its colsing this tread.

    evening, more peoples going i-net over wifi.

    i have tried change all channels ... but its not helping.

     

    Apple -> very bad product. a lot peoples here have similar problems, serios problem. and what is apple doing ? ignore ...

    next try is the 7.5.1 with upgrade to 7.5.2.

    but i do not have a serios link for download apples links does going in the nirvana ... bad support
