Best regards.
That's like putting training wheels on a Harley...
Seriously...
There are a few t9 apps in the app store. They basically just let you do the entry, then you have to copy/paste the text into whatever app you want it in. Do some searching. Maybe you'll find something you like. Better to just learn to type on the keyboard. t9 is dead.
I'm looking for the same thing. My fat monkey fingers are too clumsy and fat to text accurately on a full keyboard the size of half a stickie note. I was able to text so much faster and with way fewer mistakes on T9. I could text one-handed without taking my eyes off the car I was yelling at.
T9 is not dead...
This the main problem stopping me from switching to an iphone and I'm a big Apple fan, but I've been using a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray for 8 months now. For once Android have done something better than Apple - they give you the choice...you just rotate the phone to move between T9 keypad and Qwerty.
I've done tests for speed, and accuracy and T9 wins every time.
Advantages include
One handed, thumb texting
Larger buttons.
Larger type (I don't need to find my glasses).
Less spelling errors.
Surrupticious texting ie under table or even whilst driving*
*Using the phone whilst driving is illegal in the UK. Even if you're stationary and in a queue!
yeah funny that...knew it was wrong but spell check didn't pick it up....must be the U.S version
Hey...I've just typed it in to my T9 phone, with my dodgy spelling and guess what it corrects it to...Surreptitious but qwerty comes up with Surruptiious!!
😁
The answer is no, you cannot get T9 keyboard.
TIm answered the question in the very first response:

@KlitedTim, T9 isn't dead, some of us only have the use of one arm. Try using Qwerty with one hand and see how difficult it is to compose and send a text...
I do it all the time with little difficulty.
I type messages one handed all the time. More often than not, in fact.

They really need to make texting and driving punishable by public flogging.
I do agree with that.
