Since switching to iCloud I can not receive my .mac mail on the Mail program, I get them on my iPhone and on the iCloud Mail but not on the Mail application which I liked and used it all the time.

Roger,

Thanks for the post and the link, has anything changed reciently with iCloud and using Apple Mail/Snow Leopard? I used to have my iClould mail working on my MBA (10.6.8), but this weekend it has stopped? I have followed your instructions to the letter, but I cant get it working? I have a plenty strong enough iCloud password (changed that also). I can access Apple Mail on my Lion iMac, no problem.

Any ideas??

Thanks - Mark

Roger,

Thanks again for the reply, I did pick up on a comment about the strength of the Apple ID password in some previous post, so I have changed my Apple ID to a "strong" password from moderate. Deleted the previous attempts of creating IMAP account, **** the machine down, logged out of Mobileme and followed your instructions to the letter, alas still no joy.

Strange that some people get it working straight away? I am having to use iCloud.com mail at the moment on my trusted MBA, which is a bit of a shame having had this machine woring on .mac/mobileme and now iCloud since 2008 when I first brought it.

Any last ideas to give a last chance?

Cheers - Mark

I'm afraid I can't offer any other suggestions, because the instructions are correct and do work - I have them working as do numerous other people, and indeed I've just this moment checked and Mail connected perfectly well.

It is possible that you've hit one of their server glitches, whiich should right itself in a bit; otherwise the only possibility is that somehow you've missed something somewhere.

I switched to iCloud a month ago and never had problems with my mail on my apple at home. However, last week, all of a sudden, out of the blue, on two of my mail accounts, I began to have problems. NOT accepting my passwords. So I had to delete them (frustrating) and log in to iCloud to access them. Coming across this community, I began reading all the issues. My mac is a 10.5.8.

I did follow all of Roger's instructions, except HOLDING down the control, or clicking on USE SECURE sockets layer. That option did not come up for me.

After going through the entire process, both accounts are back up and running on mail.

WHEW!

So, now I have two mail accounts with the @ icon and 2 with the MobileMe IMAP. Since MobileMe ends June 30, I will just go ahead and delete both remaining MobileMe IMAP accounts and follow the same instructions, since I anticipate I will also be having problems with those as well.

Carl, I understand how frustrated you are. Maybe going into an Apple Store and talking to a rep would help? That was going to be my next step, if this did not resolve it.

Thank you for the reply Roger. I can't change the settings in Snow Leopard without first deleting the whole account and starting over... meaning... I would imagine the server would not have that many years of old emails of mine that I could then receive again if I did delete the account. Unless maybe I back them up myself and reimport somehow?

Just got off the phone with Apple and they told me it's just not going to work unless I upgrade to Lion... but my work software is only supported up to Snow Leopard so I can't unfortunately.
