If you see a red dot, it's on mute. Take it off mute.

Mar 17, 2014 11:48 AM in response to diesel vdubby iKayaker, diesel, robertfromm,
I have the same problem with the iPhone 5c - no sound when a text message arrives.
(1) I have "do not disturb" scheduled correctly.
(2) I have the ringer icon correct with no slash
(3) Yes ringtones are configured for text and other. I can hear them when I test them.
(4) The mute switch is not red (switch above the + volume hardware switch)
(5) I rebooted the iPhone 5c by using the button at top, slide the red bar, then pressed it again, apple came up for a minute and it seemed to be back up.
Must it be a brand new conversation ?
This is really frustrating.

Mar 17, 2014 12:05 PM in response to iKayakerby iKayaker,I seem to be getting some sound on an incoming Text but it is not the selected ringtone Aurora that I chose. And I have the volume at maximum. Before I had the volume at 75%.
I am not even sure what ringtone is being signaled.
This is not easy to configure.
