That's not Pages' main strength. Sync with other devices isn't fully operational yet. Pages is a good word processor but there may be better options for note-taking. Check out Evernote and the like for note syncing.

thats what i wanted. i just wanna keep my laptop for my studio use at home and then have the ipad for travelling and keeping online while im out. thanks for the heads up jerry.
A texteditor is the best for taking notes on any device.
The iPad is IMHO extremely clumsy for typing.
I have its predecessor, the Pen and Pad. When I discovered that I was simply amazed. So quick, so easy and no glitches except when I run out of ink or paper!

Any text editor and perhaps a wireless bluetooth keyboard so you can type faster than using the screen keyboard. Search the iPad App store for text editor.
