Q: iTunes Keeps Asking Me To Authorise My Compuer

I have been using my Windows 7 laptop for quite a while now. For the past 6 months or so (yes this has been going on for that long) whenever I purchase an album off the iTunes store a number of songs (usually around half) ask me to authorise my computer to play/ sync. them. Obviously, my computer is already authorised (the only only), and I am all out of ideas.

I have already tried every little bit of help that Apple has provided me, with no success. And staff I have been emailing are next to usless.

I have noticed when I go to Get Info. that songs I can play has both Purchased By and my Account Name, while the songs I keep being asked to authorise only have my Account Name listed.

Please help! This is an ongoing and ridiculously frustrating problem, costing me both time and money.

iPod classic, Windows 7

I had lots of difficulty too. I checked my account settings found by clicking the top left box > itunes store > view account (xxx@me.com) but it was all correct and couldn't figure what was wrong AS I ONLY HAVE ONE ACCOUNT

In the end I deleted the songs from my computer and downloaded them again from itunes (CAREFUL THAT IT'S THE EXACT SAME SONG BECAUSE THERE CAN BE MULTIPLE). You will be asked to buy it and confirm but if you have already paid then you will get a prompt stating that you already have it and that you will be downloading it for free!

    Hope this helps someone

HI, I've had this problem too but I managed to solve it, this is what I did:

    1. I checked I was logged on my email in settings, iTunes Store, AppStore on my device

    2. next I went on to AppStore>updates and updated the apps I need to update

(If you share your device and someone else has downloaded something using their apple account then you might want to delete the app, and download it again using your apple account because it will need that person apple password to update)

    3. I went on iTunes on my computer and authorised, and it worked!

    HOPE THIS HELPS

Ive been having this. Which is a bit odd because I stopped using iTunes at iTunes 11. I miss coverflow.

iTunes became a buggy RAM suck of monumental proportions and tried to keep numerous background programs running and interrupting everything I did with quicktime and itunes updates.

Seriously guys, just leave it behind and try media monkey or ANYTHING else that doesnt seem to think it owns your music after you've paid for it and if you have any software of theirs on your PC doesnt think it somehow owns you now. Scrw Apple.3s

Amazon are starting with the same tricks now with their music player/downloader/hunk of crap. BUT, with them you can order the CD and get MP3s to download instantly (if you're happy with their player). Remember, if you buy a CD ... ITS YOURS.

My case is there is one app it can't be synced. The problem is I don't know which app is not authorized. I've searched the solutions and here what I've done:

    - Go to Itunes, clik File/Devices/ Transfer purchases to Ipad

    - There is only one app that is not authorized and Itunes tells us its name. I have one more issue is: the app's name stated in Itunes is different from what's shown in Ipad (in my Ipad, it shows "Massage", but in Itunes, it's "SoundMedicine Premium). I have to use DiskAid to search for it again, and lucky I found it!!!

    - Just delete that app

    => Problem solved XDDDDDDDDDDDD

    Hope it help you somehow

After having this problem for over a month, it magically worked and up on tracing my steps, I remembered that I had signed off iTunes and restarted my MacBook and logged back in.

Has any one been able to fix this problem because I am having the same problem when playing a movie. When you go to get info it only lists the user name and not the email. Can anyone tell me how to fix this!!!

Have you tried any of the numerous troubleshooting steps listed in this 2 year old post? Perhaps the one directly above your post?

Sure. But the problem is it was purchased on a friends account who then authorized my computer ages ago. Sorry I didn't make that clear

Not sure what issue you are actually describing? You need to provide a complete description of the problem you are experiencing. Also, if the Movie is in your iTunes library, then it really doesn't matter who purchased it to start with. You need to make sure that you have authorized the computer to your Apple ID.

I'm having an issue where it has only authorised half of the apps on my phone, so when i go to apps on the phone its like some of the apps were never even on there. This is an issue because one of the apps that is not getting recognised is the app i want to take the ringtones that i made off it.

This message is indicating that some of the apps on your device were purchased using another Apple ID. You need to sign that Apple ID on to iTunes on your computer and authorize the computer for that Apple ID.
