Would a 13" MacBook pro 2012 be good for OpenGL or 3d in general game development?

I would love to use this MacBook pro for app development but also 3d game development using OpenGL, I was wondering if the intel hd 3000 would hold me back? Should I wait for 2012 MacBook pro for a better graphics card?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Bad Idea. The shared VRAM will impact performance more than the GPU.

As for waiting for the big prize just over the hill may or may not be successful. Granted, Mountain Lion will need a heftier graphics infrastructure, which suggests the next round of hardware should address those needs, but it is all a wild guess right now. Same as to when, exactly, this is going to happen.
