can you reduce video size with quicktime player?

I'm trying to reduce the size of a video to post on facebook. I recorded this video with a point and shoot camera and it turned out to be too big to download. I want to shrink the size of the video without cutting content. I have quicktime, but not i movie. do i need to download something?

thanks,

You will have to re-encode the video. There's various export items in the menu. I use an older Streamclip so I can't reference anything to the newer version, and I would have to spend at least half an hour typing instructions. 🙂 I suggest you experiment with the export to mp4. Perhaps if you do it with a 5 minute clip you can experiment with setting that work best for you.
