All of my playlists have been deleted from my phone, but they are still on my itunes. How can I get them back on my phone?

All of the playlists that were on my iphone have been deleted. They are still on my itunes but even if I go in and manually sync everything, the playlists are still not there. How can I get them back on my iphone?
