I have a question re:error 0x8000065

I recently purschased the iPod touch 4th generation of someone, when he sold it to me he said he had restarted the ipod so it wouldnt turn on untill i create an account or something?

I have reinstalled iTunes 10.6 to my laptop, and created a new iTunes Account.

When i plug the iPod into my laptop nothing happens, it isnt been recognised in iTunes and the following message appears "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone becase and unknown error occured (0x8000065)"

Can anyone help me with this problem?

iPod touch, not sure which operating system!

In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you worked through the following document?

Could he have meant he reset the iPod touch and meant you needed to input your info there? Does the ipt start normally? The iTunes issue might be something entirely different.

Use a different USB port. If you're connecting to a hub (like on a monitor or keyboard), don't. Use a USB port directly on the computer's case. It worked 4 me...or try to restart the computer, its only a matter of ports. 🙂
