Q: ATI RADEON HD 2600 graphics card upgrade on iMac?

Hi - I've got an iMac with an ATI RADEON HD 2600 graphics card.  I've just bought Final Cut Pro and realize my graphics card is outdated for use with the new software.  Can it be upgraded and to what?  2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 500GB HDD with 4GB RAM

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Why do you say it is outdated?

I have the same graphic card as you and have no trouble using FCP X.

System is 10.6.8, 1 TB hard drive, 6 GB RAM

If it works, (despite being listed as not supported), great.

But to your question… no, the card on an iMac is not upgradable.

Thanks for the help.  I've just finished the (1day) download and installed FCP X.  It seems to work OK, although I obviously have not done much to test it...  Sad that the iMac cannot be upgraded, but I might be able to get by for a while if it works with FCP X...  Wonder why the graphics card is listed as "insufficient", but hope it works OK!

    Thanks
