When I am on pages to type up a document the font is completely white and i go to the settings and hit blak but nothing what aremy other options?

Which Pages09 version do you have?
I had the version 3.02 but I am upgrading it now to 4. 1. And I will see what happens, hopefully it will work, it may have been because I have lion and an old version of pages, could be the reason why it's not working
You just needed to upgrade the Pages '08 to v 3.03, but upgrading to Pages '09 is a good idea anyway.

Peter is right but you can keep both Pages 08 and 09 on you computer. I have both on mine. I prefere using Pages 08 if I am copying something from the Internet. Pages09 can retain to much ogf the hidden web page structure.
