I've a 2004 G4 Powerbook Aluminium 15" A1046 and I was running iTunes and the screen went dark. The computer was still running but I couldn't get the picture back. Bad inverter I assumed and powered the book down by holding the power switch till if went off.
Now it doesn't switch on again. Did I affect something by forced shutdown?

Hard to say. It all depends on what the system was attempting to do when youforced it to shutdown.
If it will restart I would suggest that you repair the disk to remove any co\rruption from the directory of the system drive.
