Hi there,
My iPhone 3GS which is running on 5.1 won't load past the apple logo. It will occassionally load to the loading screen, where it is searching to load then go back to the apple logo.
I've tried restoring the software with iTunes and have tried jailbreaking it, but each time it just returns to the apple logo.
Any thoughts?

Jailbreaking your phone voids any remaining warranty with Apple, and forfeits your right to any assistance including from this forum.
You'll have to go elsewhere on the internet for assistance. FYI, there's a strong liklihood your phone is permanently disabled due to the jailbreaking. Start saving your money for a new phone.

One of my friends had the exact same problem, and was unable to resolve this problem. Sadly he was unable to fix his iPhone 3GS...
But in future just remember to look more into your issue, before jailbreaking your iPhone. From what I've seen and heard, mainly for iPhone 3G and 3GS this completely destroys the iPhone; this why I've never even dared to try it, and for the reasons seen in the reply above. I'm saying I tried jailbreaking to resolve it. It was doing this and the software wouldn't reload, hard reset wouldn't work, so I then tried to jailbreak it, to see if that would work for some reason. It didn't even take the jailbreak, so therefore its not jailbroken and was only an attempt at trying to resolve the issue. The warrenty is still intact because the jailbreak didn't work.
I didn't think it would work, however I gave it a try to try to reload the software another way. I'm just looking if anyone had this same issue and had any solutions for it. I understand the results of jailbreaking, both in terms of what it does to the phone and the warrenty.
just because it seems the jailbreak didn't "take" you still probably damaged the phone. In any case, you won't get help here.

It doesn't matter why you tried to jailbreak it, the fact is, you have rendered your phone unsupportable by Apple or on these forums. You no longer have a warranty. If you think you do, then take it to the Apple store and see what they say.

Laura I completely see we're you're coming from, And wish I could help you further. Sadly I'm new to the forum and issues, and trying to learn issues and solutions in order to help people later to come. I'd suggest phoning or popping into your nearest Apple store.
The Apple Store won't help since it is jailbroken. Jailbreaking - hacking - is an extreme violation of the Terms and Conditions we must agree to before using the device, and discussing it is against the Terms of Use for these forums.
I recommend the OP unjailbreak it immediately and keep it that way.
