another mac os x process question

I know the SystemStarter process is a legitimate process in Activity Monitor and I've found lots of info on it. But I just don't ever recall it being active all the time. For some reason, I see it permanently in my Activity Monitor now. Can anyone tell me if this is normal in Snow Leopard?
