How do I change my rescue email?

Go to appleid.apple.com

Underneath where it says 'Already have an account?', there should be a button 'Manage Your Account'. Click this and log in using your usual Apple ID and Password. Click the Tab on the Left Hand Side: 'Password And Security'. If you have set up security questions you will need to ask answer two of these to proceed. Once who have gained access you should see a subheading: 'Rescue Email Address' and under this you will see your current rescue email address and you should have the option to 'edit' or 'delete' it.

This didn't work for me. The "rescue e-mail address" is not listed as an option on that page.

i dont understand why you cant make adjustments to your security questions or recovery email once you gain access to your apple acount via appleid and password???

You will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699

When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down this page to update your rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312

I keep seeing the same thing and its confusing me. I dont want to call apple and its not letting me use me recovery email address.

What do you mean it's not letting you use it ? The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address on your account - is that what you have or do you only have alternate/secondary email addresses, which are different addresses/settings ? If you don't have a rescue email address then you will need to contact Apple
