FCPX Installation and System requirements

I am wanting to trial the FCPX software. I have FCS currently installed.
My Macpro is a 2007 model with the following spec

  • 2 x 3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon (is this 64bit?)
  • Graphics - ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB
  • 16 GB RAM
  • OS X Lion 10.7.3
  1. Will this fit the bill. Seems like it will although I am not sure if dual core = 2 Duo
  2. The install reccomendations are to install onto a separate partion on the startup disk. Can I partition the existing startup disk without cloning etc etc. ie just drag the handle in the partition section in the disk utility to the required capacity. I presume it would be reccomended to at least backup the startup disk? My start up disk is 750 GB with 569GB free.
  3. What size would the partition need to be for FCPX and should I make it big enough for when I install other apps?
  4. Would it be advisable to instal the trial version on a separate partition?
  5. I also note the following comment on the install reccomendations at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4722#
    1. User uploaded file
    2. Does this mean that all applications should be installed in a partition separate to where the OS resides?
  6. I assume that the FCPX data can be specified to be stored on any of my other disks?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Colin

I don't think your graphics card meets the minimum requirements.
