I need to un-sync an ipod from itunes so it can be synced with it's own itunes account, how can I do it without messing up my ipod and not losing anything on the other. I'm in a real mess here please can someone help

What do you really mean to your own iTunes account? iTunes purchases are permentely locked to the account that purchased them.
I want to un-sync my sons ipod as he has his own account now. He hasn't purchased anything his ipod has only ever been connected once it's my own account and I want his ipod un-synced from it.
Go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. This will erase the iPod. He then can connect it to his syncing computer and restore/setup the iPod and then sunc as necessary. If you have a 1G or 2G iPod make sure the iPod is connected to a charging source since it can takes hours for the erase
But I dont want to erase everything off his ipod, is there any other way I can do it without him losing everything
Then I do not understand what you want to do. Do you want to sync the iPod to another computer?
You can go to Settings>Store and sign out of your account and sign into his. Just note that he will have to use your account to update apps purchased with your account.

Okay, I have my own itunes account which is all totally fine. I have since downloaded itunes onto my sons netbook so he can use his own itunes account, everything is set up and ready for him, only because I plugged my sons ipod into my itunes on my computer, his ipod automatically synced to mine, now i cant sync his ipod to his own because it will mean him losing everything he has on his ipod. I just wanted to know how to un-sync his ipod from mine so he wouldn't lose all his stuff.

- Transfer iTunes purchases to his computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Connect the iPod to his computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod undere Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Hi IIIaass, I wanted to thank you for your help on this, I took on board lots of your advice but I was still having problems, it's probably just me.
However I did manage to sort it in the end by transferring all my sons Apps onto a memory stick and moving them across that way.
