I wish to install a wireless adapter to a Mac Tiger. I have confirmed the adapter is compatible with Mac. I have installed the drivers. The wireless adapter lights up, however the when I go to the network utilities it says the ethernet adapter (en2) cable is unplugged. How do I get this Mac to recognize this wireless adapter?
What Model Mac is this? By year, CPU speed, MacPro 3,1 designation, etc ??

Tiger is not supported so you will not get security patches and updates and for plug in support.
Tiger means it would have to be pre-2008.

Did you have it unplugged when Installing then reboot before plugging it in?
Did you goto... 10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order, & get a popup of new port detected?
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
