I'm doing a clean install for my macbook 13' the software is version 10.5. What would be the next software upgrade after that?

I'm trying to upgrade to os x Snow Leopard then to os x lion. Also after I install the original software do I have to purchase Snow Leopard

first and then do all the 10.6.... upgrades or can I download them for free? Thank You. NOTE: I am already operating on 10.6.8.

Duh??? If you have a Mobile Me account you can get a free copy of Snow Leopard sent to you. I think that will answer your question.

Duh??? If you have a Mobile Me account you can get a free copy of Snow Leopard sent to you. I think that will answer your question.
