Your logic board is probably OK. Try holding down the Option key when you hear the start up tone and also carefully reading Gray screen appears during startup .

i tried it but it wont do anything and my wireless keyboard is fine
What happened when you did the Safe reboot?
nothing i cant do anything it just stays white
You can hear the start up tone, right? If you can then don't hold down the Option key until you hear that tone!
Ive tried it but it wont work is there a chance the mother board is bad
You didn't answer my last question? Please do so we can proceed.
yes i do
He said he had a wireless keyboard, does that work on startup? I don't have one but my wireless mouse doesn't work right away.
The wireless board will get it's signal during the startup sequence, that is why I asked him to begin holding down the Option key when he heard the startup tone. If he holds it down before the startup tone then the iMac won't get the signal.
My suggestiont to the OP is to use a wire USB keyboard. If after using a wired USB keyboard and he still has the same issue then he should run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode. This is the most comprehensive test he has available to him, if he cannot run it or gets error codes when he does then it's off to the Apple Store or AASP for a repair.
i dont have another apple keyboard but nothing works on startup i cant hear fans and if i leave it for a while it will be really hot
Either get an Apple keyboard or just take the machine into your local Apple Store or AASP to have it looked at.
