Text Effects in imovie

Does anyone know how to create more advanced text effects that could be used in video?

For example, a list that pops up on the screen, but not all at once. Rather the list items would appear sequentially as the speaker is talking.

for the first version of iMovie ("iM-a") there were hundreds of plug-ins, e.g. geethree.com Slick, avail, to teach iM new effects & titles.

unfortunately, Apple hasn't documented an official API yet, to allow installation of 3rd party stuff in iM-b.

tell Apple an enhancement request:

a probably work-around for your actual problem could be usage of graphics containing transparencies in .png format ....

Another idea...

You could do this with Motion, but I personally would do this with Keynote.

You can easily do the drop down animation of the bullets in Keynote. Then export as a quicktime file, which can be used in iMovie. You could have your speaker in a Picture in Picture video as the bullets were on the screen.

You could also do the whole thing in Keynote, and just embed your speakers video in Keynote.
