Is zagg folio for iPad 2 compatible with iPad 3?

In this deal, If I purchase an iPad 2 zagg keyboard case ($99) I get a free pair of zagg smart buds ($50). My current skullcrushers are nearly broken, as skullcandy is all for the design, not quality. I am very interested in receiving these in ear headphones. But I have an iPad 3, and I can't use this exact same deal if I buy an iPad 3 zagg folio. I have tried. After looking at the specs of each keyboard, I found that each Folio (iPad 3 and iPad 2) have the exact same specs:

iPad 3 folio specs:

Weight: 19 ounces (539 grams)
Keyboard only: 11.5 ounces (326 grams)
Folio only: 7.5 ounces (213 grams)
Length: 9.75 inches (247 mm)
Width: 7.625 inches (193 mm)
Depth: .9 inches (23 mm)

iPad 2 folio specs:

Weight: 19 ounces (539 grams)

I know for a fact that the iPad 3 is .6mm thicker then its prediccessor, and I compared my iPad 3 to my fathers iPad 2, and saw little tiny difference. It was litteraly the difference of the length of how much the glass pops out of an idevice if you look at it horizontaly.

The folios also have this in the specs section:

iPad 3 Folio:

COMPATABILITY

Works with Apple iPad 3 (3rd gen)

iPad 2 Folio:

COMPATABILITY

Works with Apple iPad 2

I know that the bluetooth technoledgy is the same on each device, both software and hardware versions.

I also know that online on stores such as Walmart, Bestbuy, Ebay, and Amazon all sell the Zagg Folio but they are marked as *For iPad 2 and iPad 3.

After doing a mock purchase, they do not ask you if you have an iPad 3 or 2. Meaning that they are in fact the same size?

Remember that I want to buy an iPad 2 folio for my iPad 3 because of the free $50 zagg buds that come with them at:

No.....get the Zagg folio for New iPad. The difference in thickness will not work with the Zagg for iPad 2. And how do I know. I have both iPad 2 and New iPad and Zagg folio case.

The iPads are different sizes. The ZaggFolios, a hard case, are sized to fit each model. They are not the same size. You can fit the iPad 3 in the iPad 2 Folio but the fit is not quite right. Not worth the headsets. They're ok but not great.

Hmm, If it doesen't fit just perfectly I will go with the better option of the iPad 3 Folio, Maybe ill call them up and see if they will repeat their deal with the iPad 3 free buds, I heard that their customer service is very good. Thanks for your instant feedback guys! 🙂

Yes, they're quite good. When I got the ZaggFolio for my iPad 3, it said ZaggFolio 2 on the box. Called them in a panic. They were very nice and explained that, as they never made a version for the original iPad, the ZaggFolio for the iPad 3 is the second version. Absurd but they were still very nice about explaining it and I didn't have to wait long on the phone, either.

They might do it for the 2 cases. If not worst case they'll have that sale again. They seem to have it every few months. You can follow them on facebook and get first word on any specials.

Yea, I will be calling them ASAP during work hours, I am pretty much ready to buy. As soon as the money for it transfers from my Paypal... Can't wait to use this mouse I just got with it as well.

You can do this same deal I mentioned earlier with a Zagg sparq and the zagg mate for iPad 1

They do have wonderful customer service. I'd ordered my folio, then saw the 'for a few hours only' facebook sale for the free ear buds, called them and asked 'does it count on in progress orders?', it did and they sent me the free ear buds. So a very pleasant company to deal with.
