APPLE LOGO AND then red x

My ipod classic (new) was accidentally put inside a blanket and then put in my washing machine. I grabbed it out quickly as soon as I knew it was in the washer. I opened the ipod to let it dry out. It is dry now. The apple logo comes on for about 2 seconds then it goes to the RED X... please can anyone help me restore my ipod????
