Opposite pan problem in Logic.

Simple problem - and hopefully a simple solution.
All panning in Logic is reversed - Panning something left brings it to the right of the mix and vice-versa. This is universal for both audio and instrument tracks.
All of my cables are where they should be - and the panning on my mixer is as it should be.

Any suggestions?

You haven't said enough about your system for me to answer your problem. In any case, my bet is that it is a cable / operator error thing. Here's a way to check:

Choose "internal audio" as your audio device, plug in headphones to the computer and see if the problem persists. If that fixes it, the problem is in the setup (either software settings or cables) of your audio interface or your mixer / amp / speakers.

(BTW, what happens when you plug in directly to the mixer with a guitar? Is the panning correct?)

If the problem persists, try the regular troubleshooting steps - deleting prefs etc.

Cheers for the replies.
The problem doesn't seem to be with the speaker cables. For one, they're fine with everything else, and secondly I get the same problem with my headphones in the mixer.
I've got somewhere though - the suggestion to put the 'phones straight into the Mac worked. The pan issue is corrected, so it would seem to be something to do with the way the mixer's set up. The cables into and out from the mixer are all where they should be, and the pans on the mixer work as they should do, so I'm still stuck.

Final update:

Bizzarely, the problem was the mini jack - twin phono lead I was using. It's faulty, in that the Red and White phono plugs are actually the 'wrong' way around. I tested the lead in other equipment and used other similar leads in my mac-mixer set-up and conclusively isolated the problem.

Weird..!

Ta everyone 🙂
