iPhone 4 - Fixing a Corrupt Backup

My iPhone 4 would not back up when i plugged it in to my iTunes because it said it was corrupt or not compatible with my iPhone. This particular backup contains critical info, so I don't want to use an earlier or more recent backup. Is there any way to fix the backup that iTunes says is corrupt? Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi!

Like you my backup became corrupt for some unknown reason, I think there was a problem with iTunes syncing my phone. I spent numerous hours trying to find information after an Apple Advisor told me I had "lost everything" (including pics and videos). I discovered iTunes does back up media files (Apple Advisor told me iTunes "is not mean't to used for backing up media files" ) and there was a simple way of finding them. I created a simple tutorial on how to recover pictures and videos from a corrupt iTunes backup.

Here's how I recovered my pictures and videos without the need of third party software, iTunes and extraction tools. Please note this method only recovers pictures and videos.

This looks very helpful. You mentioned this only works for pictures and videos. Do you know a method on how to recover things like Notes and SMS messages/texts? I have hundreds of important notes in an old backup, for example, that I need transferred over to a new iPhone (the Apple Geniuses told me that it could not be possible). Thanks!

If you have a backup you cannot restore, you can use my online tools to convert your contacts, notes and messages to readable format. Please check http://www.iphonerecoveryonline.com, and follow the instructions. It'll tell you which files to upload. Let me know how it goes!
