Problems with Read-Only Google Calendars

I have been using gmail and Google calendars with my iPhone for a couple of years now using Microsoft Exchange. I have four calendars: Personal, Work, the read-only Contacts' Birthdays and Events and the read-only US Holidays. I've configured my iPhone and iPad with Google sync and enabled those calendars to show up by going to https://m.google.com/sync/settings/iconfig/device. The problem is that the read-only calendars do on show up on my devices. When I tap on the Calendars button it shows all four calendars but no US Holidays or Contacts' Birthdays and Events show up in my calendars.

Any idea how to fix this?
