Apple TV home sharing issues with iTunes PC

I have an apple tv which has been connected to my PC with no issues, ever since I bought my new ipad I have been unable to use homesharing to connect my apple TV to my itunes library on my PC - home sharing is turned on in iTunes in my PC, on my iPad - what can I do to fix it?

AppleTV 2, Windows 7
