I'm new to my iPad, so I may have missed a lot of information out there, but I just was on a trip with the iPad, & photo locations did not show up in iPhoto (the category isn't even in iPhoto). This is the latest iPad & I was under the impression this was a feature. The settings are set with location on. Any answers?

Not sure about this feature but there are many features of iPhoto on the Mac that are not supported by iPhoto for iOS.
There isn't a "Places" feature like "Albums", "Events" and "Journals" in iPhoto for iOS. However, if you select one picture and choose the "info" button at the top there should be a "Map" tab and a description of the location in the details about the picture. You can see the one, single, picture with a pin on a map if you click the "Map" tab.
