I have bought this iphone 3gs off a friend as she got her upgrade, i am trying to restore it and its coming up with an error message 1015, how can i get this fixed. She says she got it unlocked in Spain so her phone worked out there but never had it jailb

This error normally appears when there have been attempts to downgrade the iPhone's software. This might help http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1015

It means the phone was hacked and the modem baseband was altered. Most likely, you can never update or restore to a stock iOS again. Whether or not there are unauthorized methods that will at least get the phone working in some way, can't be discussed in this forum.
