I phone can't connect to I tunes

1/ Am using I Phone 4 with latest IOS software. When i open I tunes, it shows " Cant connect to I tunes store".

What does it mean ?

2/Further, my I phone device doesnt get recognised/ becomes visible on my Mac book using wi fi. If connected thru USB, its recognised.

Pls guide.
