touchpad not working
The touchpad on my wife's MacBook Air is not working anymore. I've tried resetting the computer numerous times with no luck. Is this a "take it to the Apple Store" event?
Thanks!

Does anything work on the touchpad or is it totally unresponsive.
Here an article to start
Nothing works. The mouse pointer (arrow) is parked in the upper left hand corner of the screen. I can only turn it on and off via the power button.
I'd try an SMC and PRAM reset if you haven't already, otherwise it looks like a repair job.
SMC

PRAM
Tried both with no luck. Off to schedule an appointment. Thanks for the input!
Very interesting!!! Because today my touchpad on my MacBook Air stopped working. I can move the cursor but every other motion like drag and drop or selecting, etc, doesn't work.
And I just logged on for help.
I will try the PRAM reset, etc., that was suggested.
Hi
i have exactly the same situation
Did you solve the problem?
Had the same problem here: keyboard and mousepad suddenly stopped working, this soon after having been "awoken" from sleep mode.
First, I shut down the MBA and plugged in a USB mouse and a USB keyboard. After the reboot, these were detected and I was able to control my MBA with them.
Then I followed the instructions on this Apple Support page : Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
Step #2 did the trick for me:
Put your Mac to sleep by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Sleep. Wake the computer after it has gone to sleep.
Hope that helps.
Exact same thing happened to me, thought it was gone.. For me it helped to turn it off and hold alt when I started it. Once I made it to the partitions the mouse was working and I just clicked the Mac, and when it started everything was back to normal.
Screw what I just said, it's still happening after sleep mode..
