It's been out less than 3 hours... give it time. No apparent problems for me.

Installed normally just like any other Software update from Apple. No problems at the present time.
<sarcasm>I'm certain that you will see thousands of posts "5.1.1 killed my battery life", just as there have been after every update over the past 4 years.</sarcasm>
ya well people always need something to B*tch about lol
I've had it now for nearly an hour and so far no effect, except I've developed an itch just behind my left shoulder. Although it might not have been caused by the update.
Man... I totally have an itch behind my left shoulder... This is definitely the update, someone should write a long-winded post on here, and then slap down anyone who has a different opinion and call them a 'Zealot'...
On serious note iinami; Yeah, no issues on my end either, but again, it's a fresh update. Give it time and someone will find something they dislike about it.
Updated iphone 3GS from 5.1.
No issue about the problem of crashing Iphone whatever the level of the battery... (more of 75%, 50% or less)
đ @Lawrence Finch !!!
Let's wait for a probably 5.1.2....or not !!!

Isn't that the truth... đ

I'll tell you something I LOVE about it, before even installing--that it's apparently just 60MB or some such. Beats the bloody heck out of DL'ing the entire iOS every time they issue a bug fix.
Some of us have very limited ISP bandwidth and those 800Mb files are deadly to us/require advance planning.
It's about time they issued patches as patches!
I believe it's 43.something MB if you're on 5.1, and about 60 if you're on 5.0/5.0.1.
It's definitely nice to be able to do OTA updates rather than connect it to a computer and redownload iOS in it's entirety

Well, not as many as I expected...https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3933510?tstart=0
OMG it's totally sped my phone up. It's like a new phone and everyfink!! đ
Give it time, it's just been released. Apparently it now drains batteries in seconds according to one post. I smell BS!
upgraded to 5.1.1. Does not seem to solve the 3g problem. THe new ipad does not have 3g signal where my hwawei router clearly has it strong. I am in the Philippines
I suddenly seem to have two problems:
- Bluetooth handsfree doesn't work. The handsfree devices (both my headset and my car) will control the answering and hanging up, but the audio stays on the phone.
- The screen doesn't hide during calls. Holding the phone up to my head, which I have done for ages, now causes accidental screen presses including things like hanging up.
same issue here re bluetooth...
