Loss of drop shadow formatting on publish from iBooks Author

Is anyone else experiencing loss of drop shadow formatting on publish from iBooks Author?

We can see the drop shadows on preview and when we open the .ibook file direclty in iBooks 2. However, when purchased from the store (or when viewing the downloaded samples), the drop shadows seem to disappear.

Odd note: They are visible in TOC view, but when a page is maximized and snaps to focus ... gone.

Thanks for the help!

Haven't seen drop shadows used in the other textbooks we've looked at so I honestly can't compare to other books.

When looking at the pages across the bottom in the Table of Contents view (thumbnails), we can see the drop shadows. When we select a page and it comes into focus full-screen, the shadows are gone. (Does that help?)

Thanks much for checking it out! After your response and some additional looking around on our part, we're heading down the "it might be Apple" path - perhaps something that happens on upload from Producer (compression, maybe???).

The reason we're going that way is that we can't really replicate either - without Apple. The upload to the Apple store through Producer seems to be the constant.

So ...

Drop shadows visible directly in .iba file in iBooks Author = yes.

Drop shadows visible in iBooks 2 when using the preview feature in iBooks Author = yes.

Drop shadows visible in iBooks 2 when directly opening the .iBooks file exported in iBooks Author = yes.

Drop shadows visible in iBooks 2 in downloaded preview from iBoookstore = no (only in the TOC view).

Drop shadows visible in iBooks 2 in downloaded (full purchase) book from iBookstore = no (only in the TOC view).

Here's the link to one of the books this is happening to. If you have the time/inclination to look, would you please confirm if you can see drop shadows? There should be at least one on every page of the preview.

Again ... much appreciate the look!!!

Are shadows working the same in your book as in others?

I was able to find a book using drop shadows in the previews. We downloaded the sample with the same result. the drop shadows disappear when the full page is viewed. Additionally, it looks like there are other design/image elements that "vanish" after publishing (torn paper effects, etc.)

Here is the link to the sample we found that behaves the same way in our testing. Ironically, it's a book about publishing using iBooks Author.
