Honestly, I got my macbook pro w/o retina and I love it!! I got it last year (2013) when I graduated high school. It depends who you are, and what you are going to do, but I don't think the retina display is really necessary. The macbook pro w/o retina has great graphics! Btw, it is cheaper too. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. That is why they make so many different kinds of products. Find the one that suits you. This worked for me. You may not like it, but you never know until you try.

But here is a list of tips/things about the macbook pro w/o retina:

1. Has a CD drive built in

2. Has great graphics still 🙂

3. The apps are pretty fast and well done.

4. They are now giving you the essential apps (pages, keynote, etc) for free! So I am super jealous.

5. Oh and they constantly update. I'm not 100% sure, but you probably won't ever need to buy them again until you get a new computer.

6. Because there is no retina display, you need an adapter for HDMI cable. Like $20-25 at the store. I never thought I would need one until we wanted to watch movies all the time in college and 7 people watching a 13" in sceen is not the best.

7.Pretty good camera built-in

8. Great audio, except when partying/blasting music, speakers are a must.

Hope this helped!!
