I have a new external (Targus) BT dongle for my Mac Pro (internal one is not strong enough and kept losing signal).

Its new because I dropped my iPad and it knocked the old one (was inserted at front of MP).

Whilst the magic mouse connects, it won't scroll.

When I open system prefs > Mouse, it won't recognise the Magic Mouse. Instead it says its looking for a bluetooth mouse.

I have reset PRAM and tried reconnecting the mouse in the BT menu in the menubar.

Any ideas what I can do here?

Whilst the magic mouse connects, it won't scroll.

Look in System Preferences > Universal access > Mouse & Trackpad tab > Mouse Options button.. > check Scrolling

Thanks - I saw this answer in a previous post, but since it won't recognise the mouse, this option is unavailable.

I have tied installing and then uninstalling USB Overdrive in case that is the culprit - will post back with the outcome.

Mouse was scrolling OK this afternoon, but shall see about tomorrow.

OK I am at work now and it won't scroll. Won't even recognise Magic Mouse; the mouse works and can right click, but no scrolling.
