My installer won't close and isn't working

I am trying to install Microsoft office for macs and my installer has stopped. The window says I have to quit the following applications before continuing and i have done that. But the window is still active and I can't even shut down my computer or continue with the install. Help?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

try quiting by force ( press Alt-Command-Esc in one time) if that doesn't work you can do a force shut down by pressing and holding the power button until shut down

I had this problem, I tried the Alt - command - Esc and it worked perfectly, my installer closed without hesitation. Thank you.
