Q: Trouble with iSight Camera of iMac Intel i5 4gb

Hello. My name is Peter. I'm here because my camera of iMac Intel i5 4gb, don't work more since last week. I already did all updates available and I bought it a 7 months ago. My isight camera shows "There is not connected camera". What must I do?! I also restared the system and the HD Macintosh and nothing happened. The FaceTime is with the same mistake.

Thanks.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Camera don't work.

    Welcome to  Discussions, Peter!

    If restarting the Mac does not cure the trouble, try the following;

    • If Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090

       suggestions do not help you, (the "reset" suggested there

       often restores normal function,) apply the latest Combo Update

       over your existing 10.7.3 using the following method.

    • Use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions and then

       download and apply the latest Combo Update, for your Mac OS,

       the current one is at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1484

    • Repair permissions again immediately following the system restart

       that completes the Combo update.

    Properly applying the Combo version of updates can sometimes correct software problems, but, if your trouble is caused by a hardware problem, there are no user serviceable parts of iSight.  For hardware help, contact an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

    The same Troubleshooting help for built-in iSight works for FaceTime (and FaceTime HD) cameras, too.
