How to freeze Credits or to add a simple text (more than 10 lines) into FCPX

Hi,

I am trying to put some credits at the end of the movie that I'm actually editing but I'd like to freeze it as I want to keep the names on the screen while I'm showing some extra (bonus) footage.

I couldn't find any way to freeze the credits so I've tried to use other titles presets but I can't put more than 9 or 10 lines in it.

Is there a way to freeze the credits or is there a way to add a simple text without any effect ?

Thank you

I suppose you are using the "Scroll" title, though it doesn't matter much.

The answer to your question is YES. Here is how to temporarily freeze the credits:

1- select your title in the timeline and make it into a compound clip (option-G)

2- Hit Cmd-R (or go to Modify->Retime->Show Retime Editor) to enter the retime editor.

3- Place the play head at the point you want the title to freeze and press Shift-H (for Hold). You get a red section where your credits are frozen. You can adjust the freeze duration by clicking on the red tab and dragging its edge (or you can set it in advance by making a selection with the range tool before hitting Shift-H).
