Think harder. The passcode cannot be retrieved from the serial number, nor from anywhere else. Your only recourse is to restore the iPod.

If you forgot your passcode, restore your iPod from backup on the last computer it was synced with... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.
