Application Log Errors

I have a recurring Bonjour error in my Application log. It states "DNS Message from 192.168.2.38:5353 to 224.0.0.251:5353 length 0 too short". This entry occurs approximately 1200 time PER SECOND!!!!. This actually cranks up my CPU just logging the errors (to the extent the laptop fan is constantly on).

The sending IP address (192.168.2.38) belongs to a Canon multi function device.

Any ideas what is causing the problem and how I can solve it? I've taken the sledgehammer approach and stopped bonjour in the meantime.
