I make music videos, and I need to be able to fade-in or fade-out. Does anyone know a program with this feature? I need to be able to upload the video from my camera to the Mac and use the software to edit it.

As Terence and I said, iMovie will do that. You just put the "Fade to Black" transition in front of your first clip and after your last one. I don't understand the reference to "real time".

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Have you looked at iMovie, though, which came with your Mac? It included a number of effects, including both audio fade-in/fade-out, if that's what you mean, as well as video fades.

Vivideo for Mac. Recently they took away a lot of features though and simplified it, kinda like iMovie. See if you can get an older version off the web or something. If you don't want to steal it, then buy the current version, then get the version you want off of torrent or something.
Sorry, but again I'm not sure I follow, particularly when you ask for an editor but then refer to "real time". Are you looking for a video editor ? Or a live video mixer/controller so you can switch a live monitor between video feeds, as one does with a DJ music system?
Let's say I have a music video that I made with a video camera. I want to upload the video to my computer and be able to use some program to edit the video. Specifically, I want to be able to fade out the video at the end or even fade it in at the beginning. I.e., I want to be able to fade the video just like you would an audio track.
AVS Video Editor is your answer. It does take some time getting used to but is your go-to program on PC for video editing.
If u don't have any experience with video eidting and if u are too lazy to learn. Windows movie maker will do the trick. You can do standard colour correction and effects but only the basic stuff.

From what I can see, iMovie does not let you fade in or out in real time. I'm looking for an editor that will allow me to upload my movie and edit it in real time and not like slides.
