when i setup ios5.1 it wont continue , it says could not activate cuz the activation server is temporarily down, how to fix this???...

thanks, but unfortunately, im doing it from the phone itself, i tried to use itunes, but it said to insert the sim card, but, there IS a sim card in it, (i think the slot is busted) i really want to avoid taking it to apple cuz its my friends phone, i said i wud fix it, but, i do not have a serial number or anything like that, thanks again: Tyler P.S reply soon.

Well it could be provisioning on your Wireless Account, or a activation profiling which can only be viewed on Apples End.
well, it looks like they came out with ios 5.1.1, im trying that, if all else fails im in deep weeds!
