Try putting a fresh set of batteries in, then in System Preferences / Keyboard try setting up the keyboard again
I wouldn't really know what else you can do.
Try rebooting in safe mode and then rebooting again. This will clear some cashes which may be the problem. I don't believe batteries or re-pairing will change anything.
I am never quite certain what parameters aer stored in the PRAM but this too may have some spurrious stuff in it.
To perform a PRAM Reset: With the computer off holld down the Option + Command + R + P and the power button through two startup chime cycles. Then let the computer start normally.
Additional info
If google search window is open and the delete button is pressed window flies out of site. Press delete again and the google search window returns.
