Reception very weak

After download the newest version of ios (ios 5.1.1) my phone reception very weak. The reception was on and off. Like 30 secs in full line, then the next 30 secs in 1 line and another 1-2 mins without line. What is the problem with the newest ios?

There is a problem!!!! Wireless reception is much worse after the update iOS 5.1.1. See this thread too: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3938559?tstart=0

It is already generating a lot of angry people!!!! And I am one of them!!! Why can't Apple programmers have a decent product ... something always happening ... what is wrong with R&D department? Here is the solution, hire whole bunch of teenagers in high school or colleges, give them free phone, tell them play around with it, and tell us if anything is wrong with this phone! Call me crazy, but product needs to be up to the everyday use standard! and if it is not, no matter how great is your phone, you loose even loyal customers! And … I get that you are trying to be the innovative leader in mobile electronics department!

I have iPhone 4S and I like it, but if this is going to continue, I might switch to something else more reliable! P.S. I’m not an Apple product person, so it is very easy for me to switch over to something else.

Apple R&D folks, please have a fix soon!!!

Just found this one too: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3938559?answerId=18396562022#18396562022

I have exactly same issue. Since upgrading to IOS 5.1.1 on my two iPhone 4S the 3G is now appalling. In fact when using my Sure Signal at home they are now unuseable. Restored devices to factory, reset network settings and even replaced my SureSignal box and it makes no difference. ThreeUK on iPad is even worse. Apple have definitely broken something. As others have said switching 3G off and on helps the situation for about 10mins then they drop off the 3G network again. Have logged the call with Apple and they are unaware of the issue. So frsutrating that I can't downgrade back to 5.1 which worked fine.

After the recent iOS update, my phones (both 4S and 4) and , new iPad have started showing SERIOUS Signal/reception issues. At my residence, I always used to have 'the Best' signal (with ALL 5 bars), until i did the 5.1.1 update. Since then, signals are going down to 1bar and at the max I have been getting 3bars and that too very rarely. I tried all the troubleshooting options: turn off/on cellular-data option, turn off/on airplane-mode, Wireless Network Reset, Restore from backup, Restore AS NEW Phone. (and each I have tried at least more than twice, and some of the simpler steps 10s of times). Every such troubleshooting method SEEMS to work for 5-10mins (sometimes unto 30 mins) and then BACK to 1-bar reception. What's wrong with new iOS drop??
