apple TV is not recognizing my itunes library. What do I do?

I have turned on my home sharing on the AppleTV and on my computer and it is not recognizing it. I have turned it all off and resigned back on and still nothing. All is connected. ???

Presumably both are connected to the router and can access the internet (YouTube on AppleTV for example).

I'd first of all look to any security or firewall softwarer that might be preventing communications - PC or Mac?
