Problem with setting up new iphone

Hi,

I recently upgraded my iphone form a 3 to 4S. I backed up my old phone before connecting one. I followed all the steps I should have but it has not worked. The back up has worked for my calender and notes and contacts but mu music and aps have not trasnferred across. I have tried to complete a normal sync after this but cannot navigate to the sync options. It just keeps asked me to chose my new phone back up options all over again.

Any ideas???
