May 9, 2012 2:44 PM in response to StudioBillby Texas Mac Man,Your PowerBook only has USB 1.1, which is very, very slow compared to USB 3. Plus a USB HD is not bootable on your PB. A better oprion for an external HD is a Firewire connected HD. Much faster and bootable.
Cheers, Tom

May 17, 2012 11:42 AM in response to StudioBillby a brody,Texas Mac Man is correct. Apple did not include USB 2 compatibility until the 1.25 Ghz 15", and 1.33 Ghz 12" and 17" models. PCMCIA which only was avaialble on 15" and 17" offer USB 2 expansion which may be underpowered. USB 3 compatibility only exists through expansion cards, which are not possible with the 12" Powerbook.
